Miley Cyrus.

Postby shaun » Sat Apr 14, 2012 1:57 pm

Miley Cyrus has adopted a gluten and lactose free diet. I recently see pictures of Miley Cyrus, she is looking good, she has lost body fat and looks healthy.

I cut out grains from my diet last year and I feel better than ever. What do you think about a gluten free diet?

I wonder why she has cut lactose on his diet. Does she have lactose intolerance? I guess I have to search on this. Regarding Miley's figure lately, yes I think she looks awesome and sexy these days but I doubt that it is all the effect of her diet. I am sure that she is working out hard also.

I think this is quite concerning as so many young girls idolise Miley Cyrus. I don't think she has a gluten or lactose intolerance and either way her fans may now begin cutting things out of their diet without any proper nutritional or medical guidance.

I don't think it's concerning at all, it makes a refreshing change for a celebrity to be endorsing a healthy diet and lifestyle. You do not need to have a gluten and lactose intolerance to cut out grains and dairy from your diet. Kids cutting out these offensive foods is a good thing.

Of course she is exercising, she has a personal trainer, but it is clear that cutting out grains has had a positive effect on her body composition. This is common for anyone who decides to cut out grains and dairy from their diet, I experienced it myself.

i wasn't saying that you need to be intolerant to cut out these things, but surely a kid cutting out lactose from their diet just to copy Miley can't be a good thing - without supervision they could end up with a calcium deficiency, for example.

Gluten free diets puzzle me. The only reason I would see cutting this out is having issues with the gluten like people have said before. However, this does not seem to be an issue, maybe the glutens are the store processed ones because it is different then the other glutens you find in homemade breads.

I can't think of a reason it would be bad. Calcium deficiency isn't caused by not drinking milk. Milk actually leaches calcium from the bones because it is acidifying. This would explain why lactose intolerant black people have low rates of osteoporosis.

It is like cutting out alcohol and tobacco, it can only be a good thing.

The basic premise is that we have been consuming grains for 10,000 years (less than 1% of our evolution), since the advent of agriculture. We did not consume grains prior to the Neolithic revolution because we didn't have the means to process the grains. We haven't had enough time to adapt to this new food from an evolutionary perspective. It is no coincidence that we became shorter, developed new diseases and tooth decay shot up soon after the agricultural revolution.

Was there any reason why she wanted to cut gluten and lactose from her diet? Are there any bad sides to eating these two forms of food as there are so many food items that contain grain or use grain and gluten as their base. It would be impossible for me to give up grain.
