There are a lot of popular types gaining hype out there like the Master Cleanse, Juice Fasting and other commercial cleansing programs. There's even the raw food diet and the Shake/Smoothie fasting. I've tried the master cleanse once but I never lasted the day, lol. What do you think is a good way to determine if a type of cleanse would be the best one for you?

The thing I don't get about using fruit in a detox is the fructose content in fruit. I thought one of the main purposes of a detox is to cleanse the body of sugar - which feeds bacteria and disease. I know fruit is healthy, but eating a lot of fruit could be counterproductive because it is sugar after all.

I guess it depends on your personal goals. For many with this, it's simply about eating non-processed foods. Maybe you could just just raw veggies if you do not want the sugar.

You can still get complete proteins through food pairings as well. It did help quite a bit. It was four days. The colon cleanse is probably the most important part of everything.
