Does Weight Watchers Really Work?

Does Weight Watchers really work? There are a lot of celebrities that are now promoting this. Some of them do look great. I wonder if their weight loss was totally from this program or if they have celebrity trainers and other factors that have helped them to shed pounds.

Weight watchers, just like any diet program can work if you are discipled enough to follow the program through. In my understanding, weight watchers focuses on the caloric intake as well as the types of food you eat according to your age and the amount of excess weight you need to lose in a given time. This is similar to any other type of weight loss program that provides you with a meal and exercise plan that suits you best. So the answer to the question would be YES but only if you will be religiously following the plan they provide you. Good luck!

I've never heard of it. I think I should Google it when I have the time but I think just like any other program, it takes discipline and hardwork to see good results.

It can work, people do lose weight on Weight Watchers. I wouldn't recommend Weight Watchers, it is a business first, and their calorie-counting, low-fat philosophy for weight loss is very outdated. My mum buys 'Weight Watchers' yoghurts, the yoghurts contain nasty ingredients and sugar, laughable.

This is a touchy topic at best. I know some people have had some great success with this, but others have actually gained weight. I think it depends on the type of body each person has and what kind of foods they can process without putting on the weight. For example, I had a friend use nothing but an all chocolate diet. She never put on a pound, but I just looked at the chocolate different and put on a pound.

So this does work, but only if you are disciplined to the diet plan and have the proper metabolic rate to process the foods in the diet plans.

There are much better and healthier ways to lose weight than the calorie counting, low-fat approach at Weight Watchers. My Mum was on Weight Watchers for years, she never really lost weight. Weight Watchers is clever marketing and a good business, but not a good way to lose weight.

I'm in Weight Watchers and it is working for me. It's not a diet, it's retraining yourself out of bad habits like huge portion sizes, not eating your fruits and veggies, sedentary lifestyles, etc. I've lost 20 lbs. so far and have about 25 more to go. It's been well worth it. My clothes fit better, my knees hurt less, I'm passing on better habits to my family and my risks of cancer, heart disease and diabetes (all which run in my family) are reduced. Well worth the monthly fee in my opinion. Much cheaper than future health costs.

Well done for losing weight, but you do not need to pay a monthly fee to lose weight. You do not need Weight Watchers to reduce your portion sizes, cut out bad foods, and eat foods which promote health. You don't need Weight Watchers to do exercise either.

Weight watchers works soo well,i have a friend who is quite young and lost 30 pounds on it! I lost weight on this program too! you have to make sure to follow it correctly and strictly. i like the points system and that is what my friend did too!! its soo easy and it really works! Also exercising along with the program will help shed weight!

How does the points system work exactly? Is it based on calories? I would never use a Weight Watcher protocol because the focus is on low fat and low calories, not something I agree with. Our bodies need fat to lose fat, your body can be programmed to run on fat, that's the best way to lose fat!
