Tips of hair color removal
Let’s face it – It looks a lot easier on T.V. Your hair color has gone horribly wrong and it looks nothing like the lovely hair of that beautiful model on the box.
Honestly, even professionals can sometimes have an unpleasant experience when it comes to hair coloring. Relax!
The most crucial factor for natural hair color removal is swift action.
For best results of hair color repair, start the hair color correction within 2-3 days of coloring your hair. The earlier you start, the better it is. Natural hair color removal is best left to the experts, especially if your hair color or bleach was of a permanent kind. If you can, visit a professional color correction expert. This may take several visits. If using a professional expert is not an option, you can use hair color remover home remedies.
There are several hair color removal products available in the market today. However, it is best to avoid them, as they often contain bleach and powerful chemicals, which if not handled properly, would only cause more harm than good. Contacting the hair color manufacturer will usually help. Mostly you will find their consumer help line number printed on the box or on the brochure within. Before you call, keep the box or brochure handy as they will need information before they can help you.
Heat is a hair color removal home remedy that can fade the color. Hot water will help fade chemically colored hair. Using hot water along with volume enhancing shampoos will fade color more effectively. Extra virgin oil too, when heated and used along with commercial oil treatments will fade chemically colored hair. The natural hair color removal method for green colors is soaking your hair in tomato juice. The red color present in the tomato juice neutralizes the green color in most cases.
Henna, also known as Lawsonia inermis is commonly known to have caused hair color mishaps. Mineral oil can be used to cure Henna related color problems.
Use sterile cotton balls to apply a concoction of alcohol – 70% onto your hair strands. As far as possible, make sure the scalp area is not touched.
After about 5-10 minutes have elapsed, apply a coat of mineral oil. Ensure that this coat is applied on top of the alcohol. Again you need to avoid the scalp area.
You would then need to cover your head with the help of a shower cap.
Blow-dry your hair for the next half an hour keeping the temperature moderate enough o avoid damage to your hair.
To get rid of the oil, do not apply water. First, pat some shampoo on the oil using your hands. Turn on the shower and lather, after the shampoo is applied to the entire oiled area. Make sure that the shampoo you use is not very harsh on your hair. It may happen that you may have to repeat the procedure.
Deep condition your hair well after the henna has been completely removed. This will help bring back the moisture in the hair.
Popping a hair vitamin pill will enhance hair color repair. It helps maximize your hair growth rate. Also, it will help you grow healthy new strands thereby leaving bad color behind. If it is possible to do so, think about adding an essential fatty acid to your daily vitamin count as this greatly will help to internally condition new strands.
Finally, if neither professional correction nor natural hair color removal is suitable, get a haircut! Consult your hair stylist as to the kind of haircut that would suit you. This will help get rid of the color at a quicker pace. Use accessories to hide uneven color and go out and enjoy yourself!
