Problems of syringoma

Syringoma can be described as a kind of a skin tumor that is usually benign. It is a fairly painless condition in which tiny bumps appear around the eyes as well as the upper part of the cheeks. This condition can affect people of all races; however, people of African American or Asian origin are more prone to it.

Syringoma is also more common in women than it is in men. The lesions on the skin normally appear when a person reaches puberty or even adulthood. Syringoma can also affect other parts of the body like the lower abdomen, the vulva or the armpits.

Syringoma vulva is caused when the bumps appear in the vulva.

Syringoma Causes

Syringoma causes vary a lot. In most cases, syringoma is caused by sweat glands that are too productive. In some people, this problem is hereditary. Syringoma is also believed to be related to certain conditions; these include include Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Marfan’s syndrome and Down’s syndrome. People who are diabetic are at a greater risk of developing syringoma.

Syringoma Prevention

In most cases, syringoma cannot be prevented, especially if it runs in the family. However, there are certain general syringoma prevention measures that can be taken by most people; some of these include maintaining the right levels of blood pressure and glucose as well as a following proper diet. Foods that are high in saturated fats and sodium should be avoided. The use of alcohol and harmful drugs should be completely stopped. People who are prone to syringoma should avoid stress and anxiety as it usually worsens the condition. Other preventive measures usually include visiting a dermatologist regularly.

Treatment for Syringoma Removal

The bumps that appear during Syringoma can eventually lead to scarring around the eye area, in case they are not treated in the right way. Syringoma removal or treatment for syringoma is usually a bit of a challenge, because of the location and the numbers that the bumps appear in. The use of a hair removal electric needle is usually an effective way to treat the problem, as it causes minimal scarring. The needle needs to be inserted into the lesion, after which a short burst of low voltage electricity are used to destroy the tumor. Another technique, known as the CO2 laser technique is also becoming popular in the removal of Syringoma, as it is minimally invasive. Experiencing mild discomfort and swelling is quite common after a Syringoma removal session. However, it is important to ensure that the treatment is only administered by a well qualified and experienced professional.
