I had posted this in another thread in response to him but he never got back to me so I will post it here since there seems to be more people interested.

A recent study indicates that there is no relationship between eating grains and causing diseases. Even if half of the grains you eat are refined there was still no significant increase in the chance of getting disease.

However, there is evidence that there may be a relationship with bleached grains such as white bread, rice, etc and disease.

So I guess his advice was sort of correct then? I asked if my eating of white bread was smart and it does say that white bread may have a connection. So, I'm thinking this doesn't apply to all white breads however?

It either means that the correlation wasn't strong enough to say it was significant but there is a minimal chance. By saying there is a slight chance they are essentially covering their ass so if something were to be found later on, they won't be looked down upon.

Or it could mean, like you said, there isn't enough data out their to support it one way or the other.

But the evidence suggests that white bread is more harmful to you than eating breads that are 100% whole wheat with no added bleached flour or white flour used on the ingredient list

You should have whole grain bread. Have you thought about eating Ezekiel bread? I have heard it is more wholesome to eat. I am not sure if it is baked with wheat flour though.

I tend to eat whole grain as much as possible. When you eat white bread it tends to have some of the nutrients stripped out. Then the companies try to replace these with other items to make it seem like a healthy alternative.

I have always eaten whole grain bread. I have never really liked the taste of white bread, I know that probably sounds strange but it just tastes funny to me.

That's weird. I have the opposite opinion. I like white bread more.

I think I will just stick with white bread for now.

I eat Whole Grain bread. Then I know that I am getting the best tasting food around and getting quite a bit of the grains as well. Without this I have to take some supplements which are available.
